Canada Pension Plan changes to
meet boomer demands
http://brighterlife.ca/2011/06/09/canada-pension-plan-changes-to-meet-boomer-demands/?WT.mc_id=en-ca:digital_adv:paid:Outbrain:BrighterLife:MONEY:Canada-Pension-Plan-changes-to-meet-boom
We knew it was coming. For years we've been hearing that the
Canada Pension Plan (CPP) might run out before we do. While government
officials maintain that the plan has enough assets to provide benefits,
they are making some changes, with the realization that a wave of
soon-to-be-60 boomers could be looking to start collecting
benefits.
Canada Pension Plan changes to meet boomer demandsSay hello to the new
CPP.
The six-year makeover began January 1, 2011, when the first of several
changes took effect. According to the government, the new and improved –
depending on your perspective, of course – CPP will "better reflect how
Canadians choose to live, work and retire."
In a nutshell, the changes will benefit anyone who chooses to start CPP
benefits after age 65. . . .

Subject: The Liberal Lagacies
DD  Attention Mahmood Elahi

In 1926 The Liberals had a Minority Government   Mackenzie
King .. They needed help to enact their legislation. Mr. King approached
the only two Labour Members in the house, J S Woodsworth and A A Heaps
and asked if they would cross the floor ,giving some sweet promises of
great positions in the Liberal Party. The two men said,no, they would not
cross the floor, but that they would give the Liberals their vote if they
would include universal Old Age Pensions in their list of things to
do.   Mr. King agreed and now  having a bare
majority did pass said legislation. On  Aug 1 1932  Mr
Woodsworth and Mr Heaps formed the CCF, Canadian Commonwealth
Federation,In Calgary Alberta with a conglomerate of other organizations.
In  1963, 64 a Liberal Minority Government was elected under Lester
B Pearson. Again they had to approach the good ole left wing for support
in order to keep governing.   This time the request  from
the Left was for Universal Medicare .Mr Pearson survived , and true to
his word ,did introduce said program. Many more programs for ordinary
people were attained because of these events.

So Mahmood , I will be quite satisfied to have Justin form a Minority
Government. Then we will get some progressive legislation from The
NDP.     Pardon me but I fail to see Justin as a
Great Orator,  just watch the House of Commons on TV. lol

New Inside Policy: Who polices the police?
http://www.macdonaldlaurier.ca/files/pdf/NOVEMBER%20insidepolicy.pdf
The November issue of Inside Policy, the Macdonald-Laurier
Institute's
national magazine examines some of Canada's more intriguing and
challenging
public policy issues. This month's edition features a cover story by
Guy
Giorno, former chief of staff to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Giorno,
a
lawyer with expertise in accountability and ethics, notes that while
on
paper the government is committed to compliance with Access to
Information
laws, the real values of an organization are demonstrated by its
conduct,
rather than its written policies. Giorno wonders why public servants
who
preside over organizations that fail to comply with the Access to
Information Act don't seem to face any career consequences. Giorno
relates
his own frustrations trying to access information from the RCMP.

Subject: What Fantino Wants Us to Do on Remembrance Day Is Forget
DD
Joe--why are we not all protesting this despicable treatment of our
Veterans by our government??  They waste billions of our tax dollars
on themselves but totally ignore the Veterans that they sent to
'war'.  The Veterans and us are nothing but cannon fodder for our
governments.  Harper spent millions of dollars celebrating our
killing of people (only 34) in Libya but totally ignores the desperate
straits our Veterans are in because of stress, DU contamination
etc.  Canadians are worth nothing to our governments of all
levels.  Just shut up and pay your taxes so the pigs at the trough
can enjoy their entitlements?

Subject: Why I Do Not Wear A Poppy   DD
Joe--I do wear a poppy but it is to remember all of our soldiers that
were used by the Military/Industrial Complex to make more money on their
blood and destruction.  It had nothing to do with 'war' 'freedom'
and protection of Canada.  It had to do with obeying the elite that
wanted to acquire more loot.  Why do we support the holohoax mantra
but do not support our Veterans??  They were injured and killed to
promote this lie just like today they are used for the greed of the
corporatocracy.

It Is Not a Matter of If, but When the Lights Go Out"
http://thecommonsenseshow.com/2013/11/09/it-is-not-a-matter-of-if-but-when-the-lights-go-out/
Along these lines of a coming false flag terror event, the New York
Times is currently reporting that …"thousands of utility workers,
business executives, National Guard officers, FBI anti-terrorism experts
and officials from government agencies in the United States, Canada and
Mexico are preparing for an emergency drill in November that will
simulate cyber attacks that could take down large sections of the power
grid." To date, 150 businesses have volunteered to participate in the
drill. This is a scheduled two day drill commencing on November
13th.

Subject: Contrast: Transatlantic Trade Deal vs "We Are Living in the
World Occupy Made"
It is important to send this to your friends.  It is not only
Eli Lilly that Canadians will be paying:
·
(Canadians: we will be
paying Eli Lilly $500M. Wake up & rise up!) This transatlantic trade
deal is a full-frontal assault on democracy, The Guardian, George
Monbiot.

If you require inspiration like "We Can!", listen to the podcast,
Democracy Now (Amy Goodman) at:
"We Are Living in the World Occupy Made":  New York City
Voters Elect Mayor Who Vows to Tax the Rich

Tuesday's election signaled a political sea change in New York City as
voters chose a candidate who repeatedly emphasized his progressive vision
. . .

People ARE doing the hard work required to turn the ship around!

Many, many success stories - - we just have to get in there and do our
part!

I searched google news for stories on the TransAtlantic Deal, like the
above by Monbiot in The Guardian (UK).  There isn't much - - kind of
looks like we have to rely on each other.

Man The Torpedoes!  sink the TransAtlantic Trade Deal.
FIRST, let's just circulate the info.
Action plans don't work if others don't know what we're talking
about.
I don't think the media has done a good job on this one.
