To-day, December 7th, is  the Eight Anniversary of the registration of the Conservative Party of Canada.  It is a day of continuing celebration by those supporting the beliefs and actions of those employing the term "New Government" and "Harper Government".

There are those as well who term themselves "progressive-conservatives".  These do not share the beliefsand are critical of many directions taken by the present Government of Canada.

As an often stated Advocatus Diaboli, demands are being placed on my time in preparation for responses to two actions taken to-day by the Government: rejecting any attempt at arriving at a consensus with a majority of those affected and a judicial opinion on the wheat board; and continuing to integrate our country with our neighbour to the south.

The media coverage to this point on both have been included below.

Expression of your thoughts on these actions, as always, are encouraged.

"Generally speaking, when advancing a significant change to an established management scheme, the failure to provide a meaningful opportunity for dissenting voices to be heard and accommodated forces resort to legal means to have them heard.

"Had a meaningful consultative process been engaged to find a solution which meets the concerns of the majority, the present legal action might not have been necessary."

"Let me be clear, we will never reconsider western wheat and barley farmers' fundamental rights to market their own wheat and barley," Ritz said.
